Yesterday was a long day on the road. I left Davenport, Iowa at 7 am and arriving in Denver at 6:30 pm (local time) made it 12.5 hrs on the road. Almost all of that was actual driving. So, I was simply too tired to even think of posting anything when I arrived.
But here are a few things observed from the driver’s seat:
- Iowa has the best rest stops. They all have WiFi, parks and swings for kids and very clean washrooms. Best of all, each are designed with some kind of theme.
- Des Moines has a great alternative rock radio station – I think it was 106.3? It had such a great mix of tunes and I was definitely sad when I was no longer in range.
- Somewhere in Nebraska, there is a place called ‘Bar None Cowboy Church’ just at the side of the highway. Now, I have no idea if this is a Bar or a Church, but either way, I love it.
- Americans love Canadian musicians. The most played songs in all the states were from Shawn Mendes, Justin Bieber and The Weeknd.
After a long day’s drive, I finally arrived in Colorado as the sun lay low in the sky and I was definitely day-dreaming by this point. Some might say, I had my head in the clouds…
